Going Home "MAYBE"

Hopefully we should be able to move back home around the middle of the week. We have called and have all the appointments line up for the utility companies to come out and run the wiring to the house, the wiring on the inside was installed during the rebuilding. There are only a few things left to be completed { screen door needs to be installed which we had to order and it will take 2 weeks to get here} gutters { the man that installs the gutters fell off a ladder and doesn't know when he will be able to come back to work, so the contractor is going to fine another company to install the gutters}. So if the house passes the final inspection and the contractor has the cleaning crew come in and do their thing we are going home.

It's been awhile since we have updated the blog, no excuses just being busy with the holidays and trying to get everything in order at the 156 house. It looks like it may be about a month or so before we can go HOME.

This is how the 156 house looks like now. We have a new roof, screened in porch(almost), kitchen. The work crew should be back on 1-2-07 and get to work on finishing up painting, light fixtures, counter tops, floors, gutters and whatever else needs to be completed.

Signs of Change

Hello All! I wanted to update everyone on the progress at the house. I know that we haven't been as good about blogging lately as we once were, but with everything that's going on we are very busy everyday. We are going to try to do better about keeping everyone more up to date with what's happening with the Ford's. We are so happy that the burnt roof is now off, and a new one is going up. Here are some photo's of what that looks like. Who would have ever thought I would be blogging about tearing down our roof? Isn't life full of suprises? It is still hard to look at some of these photo's, but I think we are excited that we are finally in the rebuilding stage instead of demolition. Here are some pictures that are up to date. We even have a bathtub! That's very exciting. Mom and I have had many discussions about when to try to sneak the sleeping bags over to the house and stay there (SHHHH)! Yes, your eyes are not playing tricks on you there is in fact a port-o-john sitting in my parking place at the 156 house. Please continue to laugh and pray with us as we venture on down this new path in our lives. We are told that we will be back in the house by Christmas. What a great Christmas present that would be. We will blog more as we continue to see changes.

HOUSEWORK When I went to our house yesterday to get the paper and the mail, the work crew was loading the truck with the old appliances (dryer, stove, fridge & washer.) I asked them if there were clothes in the washer. Because we could not find a some of Rick's work pants or his work shirts, thats were they were. Here are some pictures of the work that is happening at the house. This first picture is the kitchen, the sink was under the window. The next pictue is the laundry room. The work crew keep telling me that it will get better and my house will be rebuilt to the way we want it in about 4 months, I was hoping to be back home by Christmas,but this maybe pushing it a little. The last picture shows what you see when you enter the house from the carport. the wall you see is the wall that Nanny's what not was on. More updates later. Cindy
